Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
36. The park's new sun deck is joined to existing decks
With the main portion of Naturist Legacy Park's new sun deck now complete,
the next step was to join it to the neighbouring decks. I built a bridge
between the sun deck and the washroom/shower deck. I removed a section
of railing on that deck for access. A fellow director helped me erect small
sections of chain link fencing on either side of the bridge in order to
maintain the minimum six-foot high pool enclosure
fencing
requirement of
Manitoba
Health. An approximate six inch gap existed between the sun deck and
the pool's splash deck. I removed the deck boards on three splash deck
segments and replaced them with longer boards that fanned out to reach
the edge of the sun deck. I added additional framing as necessary. My last
task was to add steps to the ground on either side of the new bridge. If
you look carefully, you can see a thin skim of ice on top of the blue pool
cover in the last photographs! It had taken us until early November to
finish this project (partly due to the project's large size, and partly
due to other demands upon my time). Cold weather had by now returned and
it was finally time to lay down my tools for another season.
These photographs from my personal collection were taken in October
