Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
31. Beach sand is delivered and the volleyball court is completed
Several truck loads of luxurious white beach sand were delivered to
Naturist Legacy Park in mid-July by Miller's Trucking of
Winnipeg
Beach. This company also brought a large bulldozer that was used to
push the piles of sand into the previously-excavated volleyball court "pit".
The big machine was then used to level and pack the sand. A fellow director
assisted my wife and I when we later dug two holes for the volleyball net
posts and then set those posts in concrete. I designed a tensioning system
for the net that would not present any hazards to players in the way a
more conventional metal winch might have. Boundary ropes were staked at
the four corners of the court.
These photographs from my personal collection were taken in July 2012.
