Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
22. The park's first full year of development comes to a close
The corridor that was created for the new power line provided a clear
line of sight from the public road into Naturist Legacy Park's main activity
area. This would be a problem for us until thick undergrowth re-established
itself to block the view — something that would take several years. In
late October, my wife and I started digging holes and putting in posts
for a tall privacy fence. This difficult task was made a bit easier when
a fellow member arrived to help us. We later braced the posts and added
cross rails. A fellow director helped us attach sheets of used plywood
and OSB that had been donated by members.
In mid-November, a light snowfall permitted my wife and I to begin burning
branches and brush that had been accumulating all summer and fall. We were
joined on the weekend by a large group of volunteers who used two trailers
to bring load after load after load of branches and brush from the meadows
and elsewhere to the fire. The park was left clean and serene, finally
free from all of the unsightly piles that had been with us for so long.
Another snowfall at the very beginning of December finally brought all
work at the park to a close.
