Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
20. Construction continues on the new washroom/shower building
Naturist Legacy Inc. was fortunate to have a retired plumber among
its members. I learned a lot as I and other volunteers helped him do the
plumbing for our new washroom/shower building (see the
floor
plan). More trenching was required to route the water line under the
building and beyond to the RV sanitary dump station. A new trench also
had to be dug for the electrical cable that would power the pool heater
to be installed in 2012. Once these trenches were filled in, I and other
volunteers began building the deck that would surround three sides of the
washroom/shower building. The two side decks were the first to be completed.
Before we could begin the large front deck, CJ Electric Ltd. of
Beausejour
returned to wire the building and install a temporary 200 AMP circuit breaker
panel near where the new clubhouse would eventually stand. I again acted
as a labourer on behalf of the park, saving members a couple hundred dollars
that would otherwise have been paid to an electrician's assistant. I mounted
electrical boxes, pulled and stapled wires, attached light fixtures and
did whatever else I could do to help. With that task completed, I and others
returned to building the large front deck, ramp and steps. I and a fellow
director also found time to enclose the interior partition walls. It was
well into October when I finished my work on the ramp's railings and balusters.
Outside temperatures were just warm enough for my wife to give them a coat
of paint. Work on the washroom/shower building would resume the following
spring.
