Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
19. Construction begins on the new washroom/shower building
Because the new washroom/shower building was less than 150 square feet
in area (see the
floor plan),
Naturist Legacy Inc. did not require a
building
permit from the
RM
of Brokenhead. I hand selected and hauled almost all of the lumber
from
Winnipeg
to Naturist Legacy Park. My wife and I began construction in early August.
We carefully placed and leveled foundation blocks, added posts and then
floor joists. Work proceeded quickly on the subfloor, walls, rafters and
roof when more volunteers joined the build. With some help from a fellow
member, we painted the interior shell of the building with two coats of
mildew and mould resistant paint. I and a fellow director then framed the
partition walls. The installation of windows and doors completed the exterior
shell. Exterior painting was up next (siding would be added after our other
buildings were finished).
These photographs from my personal collection were taken in August 2011.
