Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
18. Another cottage is moved to Naturist Legacy Park
Several trailers, cottages and other buildings were moved from the old
Crocus
Grove Sun Club campground to Naturist Legacy Park in 2010 and 2011.
Ours was the
first cottage
to be moved in November 2010. Another cottage was moved to the park in
August 2011. Several members volunteered to cut trees and clear branches,
cordwood and stumps from what would become our friend's new seasonal lot
(his cottage had been located just a short distance from ours at the old
campground). He hired a contractor to form and pour three concrete strip
footings. Professional building movers transported his cottage from the
old campground and expertly placed it on the new footings.
CLD
Excavating of
Clandeboye
arrived soon after to install a concrete sewage holding tank supplied by
D&L
Concrete and Fiberglass Ltd. of
Winnipeg
Beach. The building movers then transported our friend's large shed
and placed it on a patio block pad that had been created by volunteers.
Few members had done more for Naturist Legacy Park than our friend.
We often worked together on construction projects at the park and I was
always learning new things from him. It was my privilege to help him with
many of his own personal projects over the years (some appear in the images
below). I have many fond memories of the times we spent together socially
during the off-seasons. Sadly, our friend died in 2018. Naturist Legacy
Inc. inherited his cottage and shed. The Naturist Legacy Inc. board of directors sold the cottage in 2019.
