Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
13. Trenching in Naturist Legacy Park's new phone line
Trenching commenced in late June for Naturist Legacy Park's new underground
phone line. A fellow director operated the rented Ditch Witch most of the
time while I dug out the many rocks we encountered along the way (you can
see some of them laying beside the trench in these pictures). The trenching
began at an
MTS
pedestal near the front of the property and followed the left side of the
existing road with brief detours around the new well and
Manitoba
Hydro's new transformer pole. The trench terminated where the yet-to-be-built
washroom building would be located. One section of the trench had to be
entirely hand dug by volunteers because of an unavoidable formation of
rocks too dense for the machine to go through. This was really hard work!
Most of the trench required further excavation by hand of loose sand before
the phone cable could finally be laid in and buried. The completed trench
was about 2100 feet long. A separate trench was made for the water line
that would eventually connect the well with the washroom building, clubhouse
and RV sanitary dump station. We were very happy to cross these difficult
jobs off our 2011
task
list!
