Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
03. The massive effort to create a new Hydro line corridor
In late October and early November 2010, a massive effort was made to
clear a corridor through the forest for the new Hydro line. Almost
all of the tree cutting was safely and efficiently accomplished by a
uniquely
skilled member and his hard-working family. I and many other members
helped
with stacking cordwood and burning branches. A light snowfall in the
midst
of this effort failed to dampen the enthusiasm of volunteers. We had
professionals cut about a dozen gigantic spruce trees. Even though
several of these trees leaned slightly towards the
adjoining road, these two skilled men were able to cut the trees so
that they fell into our cleared corridor. The completed
corridor was 800 feet long by 40 feet wide! As president of Naturist
Legacy
Inc., I co-signed a contract with
Manitoba
Hydro in December for spring installation of the new power line.
