Photos of Naturist Legacy's early success
30. Constructing the new outdoor showers and pool equipment enclosure
Two smaller projects followed the completion of the pool — outdoor showers
and an enclosure for the pool equipment. I hand selected and hauled all
of the treated lumber for both projects from Winnipeg
to Naturist Legacy Park. After the four corner posts of the outdoor shower
were tamped in place, a volunteer member used his shovel to excavate a
shallow greywater pit. I and a fellow director then built a well-draining
floor deck and additional framing. Hot and cold water was piped from the
washroom building and typical shower plumbing was installed. A simple white
tarp was used to create a translucent roof. Screening on all four walls
and a new screen door completed the outdoor showers. We built a convenient
boardwalk that allowed nudists to stay clean as they walked barefoot from
the showers to the pool area.
The pool equipment enclosure was intended to minimize machinery noise
and control access. A fellow member assisted me with setting nine posts.
I then added rails and attached fence boards. I built a gate clad with
fence boards to complete the enclosure.
