The massive effort to create a new Hydro line corridor

In late October and early November 2010, a massive effort was made to clear a corridor through the forest for the new Hydro line. Except for about a dozen gigantic spruce trees which were professionally felled, almost all of the tree cutting was safely and efficiently accomplished by a uniquely skilled member and his hard-working family. I and many other members helped with stacking cordwood and burning branches. A light snowfall in the midst of this effort failed to dampen the enthusiasm of volunteers. The completed corridor was 800 feet long by 40 feet wide! As president of Naturist Legacy Inc., I co-signed a contract with Manitoba Hydro in December for spring installation of the new power line.

These photographs were taken in October and November 2010. Please contact me if you'd like to learn more about them. Click or tap to enlarge.
