John Kundert's Naturist Legacy Park Scrapbook

2012 AGM — President's Message

I hope all of you enjoyed a blessed Thanksgiving last weekend.

Thanksgiving — the attitude, not the holiday — has been in my thoughts a lot lately.

We've just had a brief look at the amazing progress made at Naturist Legacy Park this year. It's sometimes hard to believe that only two and half years ago, our club — and landed social nudism in Manitoba itself — were at the very edge of oblivion.

We nearly lost EVERYTHING!

But that didn't happen. Together, we clawed our way back from the abyss through relentless determination and enormously hard work.

Just look at what we've faced together! Just look at what we've accomplished together! All of us here have so very much to be proud of, and so very much to be thankful for.

I want to share a wise saying with you...

Joining together is our beginning.
Working together is our progress.
Keeping together is our success.

I'm so thankful that we've joined together to save our club and landed social nudism in Manitoba.

I'm so thankful that we're working together to develop and build Naturist Legacy Park.

And I'm so very thankful for all the peacemakers who are helping to keep our community together, thereby ensuring its lasting success.

Keeping together truly is the measure of our success because it's the hardest thing to do. The collective history of social nudism is littered with examples of how self-destructive nudists can be. I don't know why we're like that, but we are — and it scares me sometimes. Crocus Grove couldn't keep together, and neither could Musqua Meadows.

Naturist Legacy is our last, best hope.

We're now at a place in our progress where the only real threat facing our community is...our community. Self-destructive tendencies can manifest themselves at any time and in a multitude of insidious ways. We need to always be on guard against this enemy within.

Let none of us ever take our wonderful park or the amazing freedom we enjoy there for granted.

Someone once said that "feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it."

I'd like to close by expressing my deepest gratitude for the privilege of serving as your president.

I'd also like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to play together with you in this extraordinary sandbox we call Naturist Legacy Park.

May that opportunity never end.

John Kundert's Naturist Legacy Park Scrapbook is relevant to Manitoba naturists, Manitoba naturism, Manitoba nudists and Manitoba nudism.

Naturism (also called nudism) is the practice of going without clothing in social settings (generally in mixed-gender groups of all ages) in the belief that doing so is beneficial.
